The Hoge Wier is a traditional sailing ship of the clipper-type. This type differs from other traditional sailing boats, because of its extremely
slender underwater line, high masts and a sharply streamlined fore with a slight S-curved prow, the so-called clipper prow. Because of its slender
curve, a clipper can sail relatively fast even with low wind speeds. One of the most famous sailing clippers is the Cutty Sark, which today is still
on permanent display in a dry dock in Greenwich.
Today, the Hoge Wier is not only very suitable to sail matches, but also to host representative receptions and business meetings. The combination of
sailing a traditional ship and having all modern comforts at the same time brings the ship and its (guest) crew to another level of excellent
performances.
